Q & A
CAN I USE THE DESIGN YOU DIGITIZED ON ALL FABRICS TYPES?
No, The fabric will dictate type of underlay, push-and-pull compensation and density that the digitizer must address in creating the design.
HOW DO YOU WANT ME TO SEND MY ARTWORK?
We can accept artwork via e-mail, mail and fax. Please be aware that artwork that has been faxed is distorted 100% of the time. It is very important that you state the finished size of the design. The more clear the art work the better the final design turn out.
DO I RECEIVE A SEWN SAMPLE WITH MY ORDER?
Yes, the samples are sewn in random colors unless specified. Also included is a print sheet that gives you all the specifics about the design: # of stitches, # of colors, design size and etc.
DO YOU CHECK YOUR DESIGNS BEFORE YOU SEND THEM?
We compare the artwork to the sewn sample, critique the digitizing, look for any "tweaking" that needs to be done to a design and make suggestions if we think something different could/should be done. If changes need to be done, edits are made, and, if need be, a new sample sewn.
CAN MY LEFT CHEST DESIGN NOW BE SEWN ON HATS?
No, we ask what applications this design will be used in, left chest, back, hat, or all three applications? We ask lots of questions, so we can give you the best design for the applications it will be used in. A design digitized for a left chest cannot be sewn as a hat design without modifications(editing). You are going from a flat surface(left chest) to a curved surface on a hat. When a design is digitized, the digitizer considers the pathing(the way the design travels from beginning to end), densities, underlay and push-and-pull compensation. These aspects are different in flat versus curved sewing.
IF I E-MAIL MY DESIGN, WHAT FORMATS CAN YOU READ?
Designs should be exported to a PC-DOS compatible format in either a ".tif", ".eps" or ".cdr" format. We can also download ".jpg" and/or ".gif" files. Other formats are also supported please contact us for more info.
I HAVE A MAC. CAN YOU DOWNLOAD MY DESIGNS?
Yes, of course. Designs should be exported to a DOS-compatible format before transmitting or attaching to an e-mail transmission.
HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO GET MY DESIGN DIGITIZED?
Our usual turnaround time is 48 hours unless specified by customer as a rush order.
WHAT ARE YOUR HOURS? DO YOU OPERATE 7 DAYS A WEEK?
Our hours are Monday through Saturday from 7:30am to 6 EST. We also have a dedicated FAX line ready to take your orders, art work and correspondence. Designs and messages can be e-mailed 24 hours a day on either of our e-mail addresses.
WHAT SOFTWARE DO YOU USE TO DIGITIZE DESIGNS?
Pulse software. We use Pulse Signature 2000 top-of-the-line software which includes all software options. We continually update to the most current version so you will have the latest features available for your designs.
WHAT DO I NEED TO TELL YOU ABOUT THE DESIGN I WANT DIGITIZED?
We need to know:
1) the finished size in actual measurements
2) fabric it will be sewn on
3) application-hat versus a left chest versus back
4) type of thread and weight
5) ANYTHING UNUSUAL ABOUT THIS DESIGN?
What is your position regarding copyrighted designs?
When a customer comes to us with an order, it is assumed that they have the proper legal authority to use that logo. Any conflict of ownership regarding a copyrighted logo lies solely between the person who ordered the design and the true owner of the logo.
Your sample looks great, but everything I sew out looks awful! Why?
There are countless variables that come into play when a design is set to sew; bobbin type/tension, thread type/tension, type of fabric, humidity, heat, machine maintenance, backing, just to name a few. We'll tell anyone who will listen what we think should be done to cure the problem of a bad sample. If it means editing a design we punched, so be it. We will stand by you and every design we do to make sure it runs properly.
